Emporia artists gathered together this past weekend for their holiday offering to the community.
Christmarket took up residence inside St Andrews Episcopal Church on Friday evening and Saturday. Spokesman David Mai says it’s good to have support from the community — and the artists who support each other in events like this.
Mai says art is a good gift to consider for the holidays.
A dozen artists were on hand with ceramics, fiber and folk art, sculpture and woodworking options.
Christmarket is the latest iteration of the Artist Open House started by late artists Hal Berger and Terry Maxwell. The event was held at Plumb Place for years before that entity dissolved, moving to the Lyon County History Center before setting up at St Andrews.
