Emporia’s newest hotel is planning to open before Christmas.
Fairfield by Marriott at 3010 Eaglecrest is set for a Dec. 23 grand opening event, according to General Manager Paul Oltmanns.
Nearly 90 hotel rooms, including 22 suites, are being built. The Diamond Conference Center will also feature social event occupancy for over 300 people and banquet occupancy for over 250.
Fairfield joins several other hotels in close proximity to Interstate 35, Industrial Road and the north side of 18th Avenue. It also replaces the longstanding Montana Mike’s restaurant that closed in 2017.
