Emporia’s Southeast Transmission waterline replacement project is advancing.
City Communications Manager Christine Torrens says Neosho Street will be closed for about three weeks immediately south of West Sixth Avenue. The work zone will involve the first 100 feet south of the intersection and will impact both northbound and southbound traffic.
Southeast currently has full intersection closures along Seventh at Walnut, Washington, West, Rural and Neosho.
By next fall, the project will have installed new waterlines from 12th and Garfield to South and Carter, finishing significant waterline improvements along Peyton Street and the 24th and Prairie process the last four years.
