The city of Emporia’s new online Budget Book is the product of conversations and behind-the-scenes work for over a year, according to City Finance Director Janet Harrouff. She tells KVOE News it gives context to the numbers in a way that’s easily understandable.
Harrouff says the Budget Book covers a lot of ground with budget operations.
The city has been working on the new online document since current Assistant City Manager Tayler Wash came on board and picked up steam as Communications Manager Christine Torrens researched similar information from other cities across Kansas.
The Budget Book for this year, as well as information about the city’s five-year budget and annual budgets dating back to 2012, is online at emporiaks.gov/budget.
