An Emporia man has been charged with abusing a child.
Thomas Gene Hinz, age 33, faces one count of felony child abuse after an alleged physical contact incident with an eight-year-old child last week. The abuse count has an alternate of misdemeanor battery against the same child.
The first appearance in this case has been rescheduled to Dec. 23.
Emporia Police has not given other details about what led to Hinz’s arrest last week.
