Coming off a return to the MIAA Tournament semifinals, Emporia State soccer coach Jane Grimley-Gunn has announced a seven-player signing for the high school class of 2026. All seven players are high school seniors and one is planning to join the Hornets as an early enrollee this spring. The class includes:
Lola Anzaldo (Omaha, Neb.) – forward, Omaha Westside – Named Taylor Made High Performance Soccer Player of the Year for 2025-26. Played club soccer for the Kansas Rush.
Yadhila Castilo (San Antonio) – defender, William J. Brennan – Four-year starter for the Bears and was First Team All-District as a senior.
Breanna Caul (Spokane, Wash.) – forward, Mount Spokane – First Team All-League and led the Wildcats to the state semifinals.
Berkleigh Crumley (Meridian, Idaho) – defender, Mountain View – Four-year starter for the Mavericks.
Taylor Gray (Wichita) – midfielder, Maize – Led the Eagles to a fourth place finish in the 6A state tournament in 2024. Also played for FC Wichita.
Andrea Guzman (Oakland, Calif.) – goalkeeper, Saint Joseph Notre Dame – Also played for Lamorinda United in the WPSL.
Gianna Volpe (San Antonio) – defender, William J. Brennan – Four-year starter for the Bears and was First Team All-District as a senior.
The Lady Hornets finished 9-6-5 in 2025 with a 5-2-5 league record and are set to return their top three point scorers for 2026.
