A Wabaunsee County man faces numerous counts of child exploitation after an arrest this week.
Sheriff Eric Kirsch says deputies and Alma Police conducted a search warrant in the 400 block of East Second in Eskridge on Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation. The search led to the arrest of 56-year-old Alex Frank Thompson of Eskridge on suspicion of 11 counts of sexual exploitation involving media depicting a child under the age of 18, along with another 11 counts of unlawfully possessing visual depiction of a child between ages 12-16.
Thompson was also arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine, an unspecified hallucinogenic drug and paraphernalia, as well as contempt of court.
Formal charges are pending. Thompson was already in the Wabaunsee County court system on charges of distributing less than 100 grams of methamphetamine and had a hearing Tuesday in that case.
