Work continues to repair a gas leak in downtown Emporia.
The leak was first reported in an alley near Sixth and Mechanic shortly after 9:30 am, although the incident was discovered along Fourth instead. A construction crew punctured a line, producing a noticeable smell of gas for at least half a block in all directions.
