One of the few restaurants in east Emporia has closed on a short-term basis.
Hardee’s at 1126 East 12th posted a short-term closure Friday evening due to “unforeseen maintenance” and then announced a second closure Saturday morning. The current closure is until further notice. Reasons have not been divulged.
Currently, there is no confirmation the local closure is connected to legal issues between Hardee’s and a franchisee. Spirit Master Funding X LLC of Boulder, Colorado, owns the property. Heartland Restaurants, a subsidiary of Summit Restaurant Holdings LLC, is also listed as an owner on Lyon County records. Hardee’s recently filed a lawsuit against ARC Burger, which had bought 80 different Hardee’s restaurants two years ago after Summit filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. A report by Restaurant Business says ARC Burger does not own any locations in Kansas.
