In the Area Game of the Week on Country 101.7 FM, Olpe earned two wins over Lebo on Friday in Lebo.
Olpe girls improved to 6-1 with a 39-31 victory over Lebo on Friday night.
The Lady Eagles led 12-7 at the end of the first quarter, with the lead extending to 10 at the half, 22-12.
Olpe would build their lead to as much as 12 before Lebo would get some momentum on their side cutting the Olpe lead to as little as 4, 29-25 in the closing moments of the third quarter. Olpe would get three more points to capture the momentum heading into the fourth quarter.
Lebo’s Alison Konrade led all scorers with 19 points, with Lilly Skalsky adding 15 to lead Olpe.
In the boys half of the night, both teams traded blows in the first quarter with the first eight minutes ending with a 9-9 tie. Lebo would go up 13-9 with six minutes left in the second quarter. Olpe would call a timeout and go on a 17-0 run to head into the locker room with a 26-14 lead.
The momentum would stay on Olpe’s side to begin the third quarter, as the Eagles went on a 15-0 to begin the period. Olpe would lead 41-22 heading to the fourth, with the Eagles finishing the night with a 48-28 victory.
Olpe was led in scoring by KoRel Robinson with 14 points, with Brayden Lienemann(12) and Isaac Knuth(10) also in double figures. Lebo was led in scoring with seven from Brock Hadley
Olpe improves to 7-0, while Lebo falls to 2-4 heading into the holiday break.
In the Area Game of the Week on Mix 104.9 FM, MdCV girls and Hartford boys collected victories on Friday in Hartford.
The Marais des Cygnes Valley Trojan girls jumped out to a 13 to 0 lead after the first quarter and settled for a 52 to 23 victory over the Hartford Jaguars Friday night in Hartford.
MdCV had two players in double figures. Emily Criqui had 13 points and Gracen Stahl had 10.
Lauren Finnerty led Hartford with 18 points.
In the boys game, Hartford led 18 to 10 after the first quarter. They extended the lead to 40 to 22 at the half. MdCV cut the lead to single digits midway through the third quarter before Hartford pulled away for a 76 to 47 win.
Hartford had three players in double figures, Keenan Renfroe had 20, Tyce Ndegwa had 19 while Coy Wilkinson had 14.
MdCV was lead by Dalton Lingenfelter with 19 points and Gus Ford had 10.
