Several area locations are reporting gas prices that are among the lowest in the state.
Casey’s West, Flying J and Walmart are all reporting gas at $1.99 a gallon, just a few cents above state low of $1.94, found at several gas stations in Garden City. Olpe’s Murphy Oil Food Mart is also at $1.99, while Casey’s in Americus is at $2.02. Other gas prices in Emporia range up to $2.19 a gallon.
AAA ranks Lyon County with the fourth-lowest average at $2.11 a gallon. Finney County has the state low at $2.05, followed by Scott, Wichita and Lyon counties. Areawide, gas prices max out at $2.41 a gallon.
AAA says the average gas price nationwide is at $2.83 a gallon, down from $2.86 a week ago and $3.02 last month. The Kansas average is $2.45 a gallon, down from $2.68 a month ago.
