Now over a week after one person was found dead inside a mobile home destroyed by fire, additional details about the entire incident are still pending.
Emporia Fire and Emporia Police have been handling different aspects of the overall investigation after fire ripped through 801 Clark Street Lot 5 on Dec. 23. Emporia Fire has been working to determine the cause and origin point of the fire, while Emporia Police has been investigating the the death. There have been no updates on either side of the investigation since shortly after the fire.
The blaze burned through significant portions of the mobile home’s north, south and west walls. Emporia Fire says a nearby vehicle was also involved, and some tires near the north wall were also affected.
