Two Lawrence residents are in police custody following a traffic stop early Sunday morning in Osage County.
According to Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells, a Sheriff’s Corporal conducted a stop at 8th and Western Heights in Overbrook just after 2:40 am for an alleged traffic violation. During the stop, officers allegedly located illegal narcotics in the suspect vehicle, leading to the arrests of 19-year-olds Mariah D. Hall and Mondezz T. McGruder-Proctor, both of Lawrence.
Hall was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, possession of THC, no proof of insurance, driving without a license and transporting an open container. Meanwhile, McGruder-Proctor was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of THC, criminal use of a firearm and possession of a firearm while under the influence.
Formal charges are currently pending. Both Hall and McGruder-Proctor are being held at the Osage County Jail at last word.
