Culture and efficiency matters will be a highlight of the USD 253 Emporia Board of Education meeting this week.
Board members will discuss the findings of a recently-completed study through KJA Enterprises when it comes to the district’s business office culture and efficiency, including matters like fiscal accountability, best practices alignment for school business management and internal communication.
In other matters, the board will discuss a tentative agreement with the Emporia Police Department for a full-time School Resource Officer, as well as policy readings for facility rental usage rates and the Emporia Middle School course guide. Board members will also discuss the football program’s upcoming move out of the Centennial League towards an “independent scheduling model” beginning in the 2028-29 academic year.
The meeting starts at 6 pm Wednesday at Mary Herbert Education Center.
