Gufler Mansion owner Ben Kohl says ownership of the Gufler Mansion has been “everything we expected and more” as they look to their first full year of ownership with great anticipation.
The Kohls took over ownership from Brad and Susan Cochennet back in August of last year and Ben Kohl says the experience picked up pace very quickly, especially in October.
Rather than being a deterrent, Kohl says the quick pace of October, followed by a slightly slower yet still busy holiday season, only further energized him and his wife, moving forward with Kohl saying he hopes every month can be like October. To accomplish that goal, Kohl says there are key areas they will need to focus on moving forward, including increased publicity and awareness within the local community and beyond.
He also says capitalizing on key local events, specifically mentioning Unbound Gravel, the Glass Blown Open, holidays and the World Cup of Soccer coming to Kansas City, will be crucial.
The Gufler has a pair of upcoming events already on the community calendar, including a High Tea on January 31 at 2 pm. The cost is $18 for ages 5-15 and $24 for ages 16 and up.
The Mansion will also be hosting a live murder mystery dinner theater on Valentine’s Day, with a special menu being prepared by the mansion’s full-time chef, Julia Zincke (ZINC-EE), beginning at 5 pm.
