There’s a lot ahead for ESB Financial as it officially begins its 125th anniversary year.
As part of KVOE’s Morning Show on Monday, Marketing Officer Kandace Wakeman said there will be an emphasis on the bank’s history for staffers through a special training day. There will also be a lot of opportunities for the community to learn more about the bank and its history.
Part of that community engagement has already happened through the ESB Financial Holiday Plaza ice rink, which wrapped up its first season of operations this past weekend. President Michael Black says it was a success with expected — and unexpected — feedback.
When you talk about ESB Financial, you have to mention the early contributions of founder Will Wayman and the bank’s ongoing focus on Wayman’s core values. Black says part of that is seen through common-sense relationships developed literally over generations.
Wakeman says Wayman’s background story — immigrating as a baby, working on farms at an early age, no formal schooling — led him to develop a bank built on hard work and community service.
Looking ahead, Black says technology will be a big part of how ESB Financial serves its customers — but the overall goal is still to serve the area.
Wakeman says artificial intelligence can be of benefit — if it’s used properly.
Wakeman says ESB Financial will release more information about upcoming anniversary celebration events as the year continues.
