Money matters are ahead for both the USD 251 North Lyon County and USD 252 Southern Lyon County school boards in separate meetings this week.
USD 251 North Lyon County
6 pm, Americus
Board members will discuss the completed fiscal 2025 audit as compiled by Council Grove accountant Cindy Jensen before moving into the regular financial, legislative and capital outlay reports. Board members could also buy over 30 laptops for the district at a cost of around $30,000 — and they could hire an architect to develop three sets of renderings for possible new facilities. The district is considering a new high school and athletic facilities either at or near NLC Elementary/Junior High in Americus, a new high school and athletic facilities near the Americus city limits or a new prekindergarten-through-high school campus and athletic spaces near the center of the student body.
Two executive sessions are also planned, one for student matters and the other for non-elected personnel.
USD 252 Southern Lyon County
6 pm, Hartford
USD 252’s school board will also discuss its fiscal 2025 final audit, with additional reports from Superintendent Ryan Muhlig, building principals, the Southern Lyon County Recreation Commission and OPAA, the district’s food service partner.
The meeting starts at 6 pm at the USD 252 board meeting room in Hartford.
