A member of Emporia State University’s legal team and a Lyndon attorney are part of the Kansas Bar Association’s Leadership Institute class of 2026.
Tyler Pettigrew currently serves as Emporia State’s General Counsel, leading ESU’s legal affairs, risk management and compliance items for categories ranging from labor, employment, student affairs, athletics and state regulations. Besides overseeing emergency management and advising on long-term strategic goals, Pettigrew also teaches ethical decision-making in Emporia State’s School of Business and Technology.
Alyssa Brecheisen is an attorney with Burns, Burns, Walsh & Walsh in Lyndon, focusing on domestic and criminal defense matters. Her work takes her across Osage County and other counties in northeast Kansas.
The Leadership Institute is designed to connect attorneys while broadening their experience within the bar, judiciary and legislative processes. Classes take place from February through May.
