The Emporia Recreation Commission has several updates ahead for its meeting this week.
Board members will get the latest from the Rec Commission Steering Committee overseeing a possible new recreation center before receiving the latest on major upgrades to the DeBauge Family Sports Complex, including schematic designs and bid timelines, after major funding from the Rec Commission, Stormont Vail Health and the Kansas Department of Commerce.
Separately, the board will get a monthly report on RecXtra attendance and finances, as well as updates on solar benches and the Rec Center’s golf simulator.
The meeting will be at 5:30 pm Tuesday at the Lee Beran Recreation Center. Meetings are typically held Mondays, but this one is getting moved due to Martin Luther King Jr Day.
