After a two-month pause, Lyon County Commissioners are set to revisit an annexation request from the City of Emporia during their upcoming regular action meeting Thursday morning.
Commissioners will once again consider a request to annex property at 800 Road 160 into the city limits. The request was made as A1 Pump and Jet is looking to expand its operations in the area.
The matter was first discussed on November 13th and included nearly 90 minutes of back-and-forth discussion between county residents who are in opposition to the annexation and expansion and A1 owner Ron McCoy. Following those discussions, commissioners tabled the matter to allow more time for information gathering on the proposed expansion and operations.
Separately, commissioners will consider an agreement with Republic for solid waste disposal and recyclable processing.
The meeting will begin at 9 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
