Lyon County’s Board of Zoning Appeals approved a pair of decisions on variance requests at their monthly meeting this week.
Board members approved a variance submitted by administrators of the Brownstone 3 travel plaza project near West US Highway 50 and Graphic Arts Road, but only to 85 feet instead of the proposed 100. The standard is actually 10 feet.
Board members also approved a front built-to line of 25 feet versus the county standard of 60 feet for Contractor Storage in the 2800 block of West 15th.
Separately, the board and Metropolitan Area Planning Commission tentatively approved moving their scheduled monthly meeting night from the third Tuesday of each month to the second Tuesday, pending an internal review. The change would begin in March if approved. The meeting time of 6 pm would stay in place.
