The Glacier’s Edge Tournament in Emporia wrapped up Saturday with Emporia falling 48-46 to Wichita South in overtime. The loss gave the Lady Spartans fourth in the tourney
EHS raced out to a 12-9 first quarter lead. Emporia led by as many as eight in the second, but settled for a 27-20 lead at the break. The Black and Red held a 38-29 advantage after three. The Titans stormed all the way back to tie it at 41 at the end of regulation. Wichita South won OT 7-5.
Bill Nienstedt was extremely disappointed with the outcome of the game.
He was really happy with what he saw from Bailey Wiltz, who had 12 points and a double-double.
Kaylee DeWitt had a team high 14 as EHS drops to 6-9.
Centennial League play resumes with Topeka High in town on Tuesday.
