Emporia State sophomore pitcher Colby Deaver has been named the first MIAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week following a shutout start on Saturday against Adams State last weekend. Deaver picked up the win after locking up the Grizzlies by scattering just one hit over five innings while striking out eight. The Hornets cruised to a 13-0 victory in the game. ESU started the season 4-0 last weekend for their best start to a season since 2015. The Black & Gold return to action for three games at the Edmond First Pitch Classic beginning on Thursday.
