For the third consecutive year, the Olpe Fitness Park Committee will be hosting the Green Machine Gala and for the third consecutive year, the event will be a sellout.
The committee announced last week that all tickets for the event have been claimed, with a waiting list now being compiled in case some attendees should not be able to attend. Organizer Tyler Schmidt says it is amazing to him how the event has grown to be so popular in just the short time since its inception, noting it was originally meant to be an event to raise awareness of the Olpe Fitness Park Project.
Since that time, he says it has become a staple event within the community, and one they hope will continue well into the future.
Schmidt says the format for the evening will be the same as in years past, with dinner, an auction and dancing; however, one notable change from prior years is a significant increase in sponsorships and contributions from the community.
While the sell-out for the event, coming up on Valentine’s Day at the Olpe Knights of Columbus Hall, was an exciting announcement for the committee, Schmidt noted there have been some concerning developments that followed it, namely scammers.
Schmidt, while speaking with KVOE News, reiterated that the gala is sold-out meaning there are no more tickets available and anyone who receives messages or correspondence saying otherwise should not be opened or returned. Those with questions or who would like additional information can reach out to the Olpe Fitness Park Committee or Tyler Schmidt by calling 620-794-2022.
All proceeds from the gala will go to support the construction of the Olpe Fitness Park, which is currently in phase one construction.
