The 2026 National Teachers Hall of Fame class of inductees has been selected; all that remains is for them to be named publicly.
Preparations for those announcements are currently underway, according to NTHF Director Maddie Fennel on KVOE’s Morning Show Monday. While she could not reveal the names of the individuals on KVOE’s airwaves, Fennel says it will be another outstanding class of educators.
Fennel also noted this year’s class was chosen out of a record number of nominees, around 180, and the selection committee “agonized” over the final decision.
Induction activities will take place in Emporia the week of June 15th, and Fennel says the schedule will look slightly different than before.
Fennel also says the hall will be holding a new fundraising campaign starting in March to support the inscription of several new names on the National Memorial to Fallen Educators.
This year’s induction activities in Emporia will also take place a little more than a week before the hall hosts its inaugural Education Summit at Walt Disney World, June 29th through July 1. Fennel says there is still plenty of time for educators to get registered for the three-day conference.
