Council Grove Police Chief Shawn Wangerin says a domestic disturbance call on Valentine’s Day led to the discovery of illegal drug activity.
Council Grove officers responded to the 600 block of West Main on Saturday, developing enough probable cause to gain a search warrant. As a result, Cassandra Kline and Zachary Kline, both of Council Grove, were arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute, as well as possession of marijuana, paraphernalia and a prescription-only drug without a prescription. Zachary Kline was also arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order.
Formal charges are pending against both people.
