The 2025-2026 campaign has come to a close sooner than anyone in Hartford anticipated.
On Monday, Hartford High School and Neosho Rapids Schools announced on Facebook that the Hartford girls’ basketball season has officially ended.
The Jaguars entered the winter with just five players on the roster, leaving little margin for error from the opening tip. Despite the limited numbers, Hartford showed early promise. Ryan Thomas’ squad opened the season with four consecutive victories. He said the decision to call the season was made as a group.
Illness forced the Jaguars to forfeit two games in January, and Hartford has not taken the floor since the final day of the Lyon County League Tournament after numerous injuries. The team dropped its final 18 contests.
Coach Thomas is scheduled to discuss the season and what lies ahead for the program when he appears on the Coaches Corner program during the noon hour Wednesday on Country 101.7 FM.
