One person was hurt after a crash near Emporia’s William Allen White Elementary on Thursday.
Emporia Fire/EMS and Emporia Police responded to 10th and Cottonwood just before 9 am, finding two small SUVs had collided. A westbound SUV apparently failed to yield at the intersection before the crash, and there are indications both vehicle were speeding at the time.
Names have not been announced, but the westbound driver was taken to Newman Regional Health with non-emergent injuries.
