Emporia Police officers say one person was arrested after a short foot pursuit in central Emporia early Sunday.
The incident allegedly began shortly before 2 am after an attempted traffic stop in the 700 block of Oak. The driver allegedly got out of the car in question and ran — only to get arrested in the 700 block of Elm a block away.
The suspect’s name has not been released. Exactly what led to the traffic stop is unclear. Formal charges are currently pending.
