Lyon County Treasurer Sharon Gaede is reminding drivers of the first vehicle tag deadline of the year.
Friday is the deadline for residents with last names beginning with the letter “A” to renew vehicle tags without penalty. Friday is also the last day to renew vehicle tags without penalty for commercial vehicles, heavy trucks and trailers.
Proof of insurance and a valid Kansas ID or driver’s license are needed.
Motor Vehicle Office hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm weekdays. Residents wanting to claim a place in line can use the county’s QLess system, either by using the kiosk in the Lyon County Courthouse, using the QLess app or texting “Lyon County Motor Vehicle” to 620-254-9998.
