The Area and Emporia Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday.
Octavian Dean from Madison earned the Area Athlete of the Week. The senior poured in 31 points and 16 rebounds in a win over Chase County. He followed that up with 18 points and 14 rebounds on Friday against Lyndon.
The Emporia Athlete of the Week is Maycee Davis. The sophomore had one of her best games of the season Friday against Topeka High. She scored 24 points and collected 14 rebounds while blocking two shots.
