Newman Regional Health has its annual Healthy Heart Fair this week.
Activities will be from 9-11 am at the Fairgrounds Bowyer Community Building. Business Development Marketing Specialist Saylor Middleton says there will be a lot of presenters with a lot of information.
The event highlights Heart Month, and Middleton says the hospital’s Cath Lab team inspired the first event last year.
Heart health is a vitally important aspect of overall health, and Newman Regional’s Cath Lab team members have several immediate steps people can take so people can be more healthy. Dr Michael Lloyd urges people to “know their numbers.”
Cardiology APRN Adam Galindo says exercise should be a focus.
Dr Colleen Fearon says women need to know their symptoms — because signs of heart attack present differently for women and men.
Attendees are asked to register online at the hospital website, newmanrh.org, or call 620-341-7781, but they can still show up without registering.
