USD 253 Emporia school board members will discuss planning and proposals at their regular meeting this week.
Board members will discuss updated measures for the district’s ongoing strategic plan, including positive student behaviors, parent-teacher conference attendance and use of the district’s different communication options.
Board members may approve an Uninterruptible Power Supply Infrastructure Refresh contract and a cloud-based information management platform. Due to so-called E-rate Category 2 rules, the estimated total cost of over $120,000 is eligible for an 80 percent discount, lowering the district’s outlay to less than $25,000.
In other business, the board is set to consider a health insurance broker contract with IMA Inc at an unchanged rate of $50,000 for the 2026-27 plan year. It could also approve a 5-year, over $130,000 contract with SumnerOne for managed print and copier services. One executive session is planned for superintendent evaluation.
The meeting is set to begin at 6 pm Wednesday at Mary Herbert Education Center.
