Construction is still around a month away, but planning is set to turn into action in Americus when it comes to underground infrastructure.
Black Hills Energy is working toward installing a new natural gas main later this spring. Black Hills says there will be flagging and special marking activity across town as a way to locate existing utilities.
Once the main is installed, Black Hills will also replace individual service lines to homes. Black Hills is asking homeowners to coordinate with project inspectors and onsite crews to make sure lines are “identified and protected during construction.”
Gas main installation should start in early April.
