Change of valuation notices are being sent out to county residents shortly.
During the public comment portion of the Lyon County Commission’s regular action meeting Thursday morning, County Appraiser Ryan Janzen informed commissioners that the notices will be sent out to property owners on Friday. Property owners will have 30 days to request an appeal of the notices once they are sent out, with the deadline for such appeals March 30.
Separately Thursday, commissioners reviewed a quartet of requests from Lyon County Engineer Wayne Scritchfield who sought approval of invoices from WKI Kenworth for a total of just over $6,800 for torsion bars on the department’s Kenworth trucks and $8,600 for mower blades and hardware through Lacal Equipment Inc. Scritchfield also requested commission approval to advertise bids for scrub seal emulsified asphalt and corrugated metal arch culverts.
All requests were approved unanimously.
In a separate business, commissioners approved the submission of invoices from Time Clock Plus for services from February 16th, 2026, to February 15th, 2027, for more than $13,350 submitted by Human Resources Director Alicia Rumold.
Commissioners also held one executive session for employee evaluation; no action was taken. The Lyon County Commission will reconvene for its regular meeting next Thursday at 9 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
