Emporia Fire had a busy Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters first went to a reported structure fire in the 1000 block of Mary shortly before 1:30 pm, although they found no sign of fire at that location.
As fire crews were investigating the structure fire call, they were also called out to the 1000 block of Road 240 for a grass fire that was handled quickly. A cause is undetermined. About an acre burned.
Saturday’s fire danger is high to very high areawide into the early evening.
