So far, no travel issues have been reported after an eventful day for weather Sunday.
Area residents had to contend with a wintry mix, cold rain and thunderstorms at times through the afternoon. One area county, Chase County, was briefly in a severe thunderstorm warning as a severe storm moved east out of Marion County. The storm had dropped 1- to 1.5-inch hail in Marion County but lost its power after approaching central Chase County and no severe weather of any sort was reported in Chase County during the warning.
Pea-sized hail was reported in south Emporia as part of a separate, non-severe thunderstorm.
Meanwhile, there was at least isolated graupel, also called soft hail or snow pellets the size and shape of Styrofoam balls, reported in Emporia by late Sunday morning. The Emporia Municipal Airport had reported less than 0.10 inch of icing on a flat, elevated surface as of Sunday afternoon. Travel areawide has been at normal speeds with no issues reported in any area county due to icing. Kandrive.gov is reporting no travel problems for any area highway.

An active weather week is ahead, with numerous rain chances through Friday. Monday should be mostly dry after a chance of drizzle ends by mid-morning, but rain chances return Monday night. Thunderstorms are possible Tuesday night, Thursday night and Friday.

No severe weather has been reported so far in Chase County with the storm activity.

Severe Weather Awareness Week officially begins Monday.
Most area residents have been dealing with isolated to scattered non-severe storm activity through the early afternoon and a cold rain or wintry mix all day. The Emporia Municipal Airport is reporting less than 0.10 inch of icing on flat surfaces after some graupel was reported in town. No travel issues have been reported as of 2:30 pm Sunday.
