Lebo girls saw their season come to an end Monday night with a 44-34 loss to McPherson Elyria Christian in the semifinal of Substate in Lebo.
Both teams traded baskets through much of the contest, with neither side able to create much separation. The Lady Wolves battled on both ends of the floor, keeping the game within reach heading into the fourth quarter. However, the Eagles found another gear late, converting key possessions and tightening up defensively to pull away down the stretch.
Rachel Barnhart led Lebo with 10 points, providing steady offense throughout the night. The Eagles were paced by Joy Pyle, who finished with 15 points, while Grace Prescott added 13 to help seal the victory.
