Project funding is among the highlights of the Emporia City Commission meeting Wednesday.
Commissioners may approve the sale of General Obligation bonds to help fund the renovation process at Fire Station 2 that’s now underway. Separately, commissioners could approve an amendment to an agreement with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to reduce the city;s Kansas Water Pollution Control Revolving Fund loan amount by almost $120,000, reflecting the final amount borrowed for projects like the 2018 Downtown Sanitary Sewer, Wastewater Treatment Plant improvements and work on Lift Stations 1 and 2. The annual Hazardous Sidewalk program bid could be approved.
Study meeting items include end-of-year financial, the Downtown Emporia Traffic Engineering Assistance Program and strategic direction for the city through 2028.
The action session starts at 11 am at the Municipal Court Room. The study meeting follows at White Auditorium Wheeler Conference Room.
