Emporia’s Country Mart is changing names later this month.
Country Mart will officially become the city’s second Good’s CashSaver. Store owner Matt Good says this will be a good move for customers, both from the pricing structure and the Reeble’s Country Mart legacy.
Good says the conversion has been under discussion “for a while.”
In an interview Wednesday with KVOE News, Good says the changeover begins after the close of business March 15.
The store will have a soft reopening March 19 before a grand reopening March 25. The Reeble chain was developed back in the early 1880s and had two downtown locations for years, the current one and Reeble’s South near First and Commercial, before the south store was closed in 2018.
For customers, Good says sales will be honored at both Country Mart at 1020 Merchant and CashSaver at 2703 West US Highway 50. For staff, Good says he’s looking to bring more employees on board as part of the conversion.
