A Missouri man suffered potentially serious injuries after a wreck in western Osage County on Tuesday night.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the wreck involved a pickup and a semi, happening around 10:15 pm at Kansas Turnpike mile marker 165.2 northbound, nearly 40 miles northeast of the Emporia tollgate. Troopers say the pickup, driven by 46-year-old Chester Wood of Kansas City, hit the back of the semi driven by 42-year-old Ion Cirlan of Lake in the Hills, Illinois.
Wood was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center for treatment. Cirlan was not hurt. The reason or reasons behind the wreck remain unlisted.
