Heroes for Hope has launched.
The now-annual fundraiser relies on prominent women in the community generating funds and raising awareness for SOS. Executive Director Mickey Edwards tells KVOE News the program is a good way to spread the word about SOS services like crisis options, child advocacy, visitation and exchange and Court-Appointed Special Advocates or CASAs.
Both Heroes for Hope and its male counterpart, SOS Strong, have become popular fundraisers for SOS. Edwards isn’t surprised they have taken root in the area so quickly.
Heroes for Hope continues through April 10, with participants holding various community events and activities as they try to raise at least $1,000 each for the cause.
