Your valuation statement may disagree, but Lyon County Appraiser Ryan Janzen says overall notices indicate relatively modest increases from year-to-year.
Janzen joined KVOE’s Morning Show this week, saying his staffers react to market activity.
Janzen says the amount of activity is “very comparable” to last year, although homes have been on the market longer than they have in years past. Last year’s median sale price was $180,000, up 4 percent from last year.
For ag land, Janzen says cultivated land dipped by an average of $2 an acre, while grassland went up by around $6 an acre on average. For commercial properties, Janzen says valuations generally went up 1-7 percent, although there were some variances in different subcategories.
The appeal window is now open through the rest of the month. Janzen says it helps to come prepared.
