Openings and closings continue as Emporia’s Southeast Transmission waterline moves along.
On the opening side, First and Commercial has reopened to traffic after several weeks of work.
On the closure side, First is closing near Cottonwood, while East is now partially closed from First to South. Both closures are expected to last up to 3 weeks.
The start of the Southeast Transmission waterline replacement process overlapped the end of the 24th and Prairie project in June 2025. It’s installing over 24,000 feet of new water mains ranging from 4-20 inches in diameter. Over 200 new service lines and other connections are also getting installed into this upcoming fall.
