Recent rainfall hasn’t caused any major changes to the US Drought Monitor map.
Most of Greenwood County and the southern quarter of Coffey County remain listed as abnormally dry as of the weekly report Thursday. The rest of the KVOE listening area, including Lyon County, is clear of any drought level.
Sunday saw anywhere from 0.70 to 1.40 inches of rain areawide, including an inch at the KVOE studios. Wednesday’s rainfall, anywhere from 0.20 to 0.40 inches, came too late for Thursday’s update.
