More discussions connected to new facilities are ahead for the USD 251 North Lyon County Board of Education this week.
At Wednesday night’s meeting, the board will continue discussing the process and schedule for starting with a construction manager at-risk after starting that conversation last month. Construction managers at-risk are important parts of large-scale projects, such as the district is considering, because they work with the general contractor and, in this case, the school district to handle budgets, schedules and certain financial matters if needed.
The discussion on a construction manager follows the district choosing TESSERE as the architect responsible for developing plans for three potential school options: a new high school near North Lyon County Elementary/Junior High in Americus, a new high school near the Americus city limits or a full K-12 campus near the district’s population center.
Other business for Wednesday includes the March 2026 capital outlay update, 5-year capital outlay plan, financial report and legislative report. Executive sessions are planned on financial data, unspecified student matters and non-elected personnel.
The meeting starts at 6 pm at the board office in Americus.
