Visit Emporia has announced one round of recipients for its Tourism Grants.
Director Matt Fowler says the goal is to use part of the city’s transient guest tax revenues to generate more such money through different community events.
Fowler tells KVOE News new or existing organizations can apply, but much of the focus is on new events or expanded activities.
Recipients were:
*Champions Landing
*Flatland Cruisers
*Folk Alliance Region Midwest
*Freedom Fest
*Handlebars of Hope
*Latin Legends Softball Club
Fowler says Visit Emporia didn’t grant the entire $15,000 amount, so there will be a second grant period later this year. More information is available at visitemporia.com.
