All facets of local Salvation Army operations are busy as we get into spring, and Capt. Mylie Hadden says one category is seeing more interest than normal recently.
Hadden says there has been an increase in contacts after the sudden closure of the Hopkins Manufacturing plant last month. For residents seeking emergency help, they need to provide some sort of documentation.
The food pantry has seen consistent traffic, and the Salvation Army is planning its annual partnership with the local Letter Carriers Association for the Stamp Out Hunger food collection drive May 9.
