Flint Hills Technical College has finalized an education agreement with Pittsburg State.
The so-called 2+2 articulation agreement lets tech college graduates go to Pitt State so they can get a bachelor’s degree in applied science emphasizing technology management. Classes will be fully online.
College President Caron Daugherty says Pitt State is a natural partner for this program.
College Director of Marketing & Public Relations Ryann Brooks says the agreement reflects a regional partnership between FHTC and Pitt State that’s committed to “workforce development.” It also benefits traditional and non-traditional students, including working professionals. Daugherty says it makes sense to consider the needs of non-traditional students with programs such as this.
FHTC students need to have finished their associate degree work, or a minimum of 60 semester credit hours, before they can transfer directly into the Pitt State program.
Daugherty says FHTC has articulation agreements with all the state’s regional universities, as well as agreements with Kansas State University. She says articulation agreements give students more opportunities to stay in Kansas and get jobs after they graduate.
