The #38 Ouachita Baptist tennis team handed the Hornets a 4-2 loss in Arkadelphia, Ark. on Wednesday afternoon. The Hornets fell behind early losing the doubles point in a super tiebreak at #3 doubles. The Hornets had won at #1 doubles but Diego Calvo and Duvan Santiago Torres fell 7-6 (10-8) to drop the point. The Hornets lost the first three matches in singles to give the Tigers the win. Calvo came from behind for a 6-7, 6-3, 6-0 victory at #3 singles and Santiago Torres won at #4 singles 6-3, 2-6, 6-2. ESU faces their third-straight ranked opponent on Thursday when they face #33 Southern Arkansas.
